Prairie Lakes Regional Open Space

For nature lovers, the future Prairie Lakes Regional Open Space right next-door is a 65-acre gem of rare beauty with its three dedicated lakes (once used to irrigate Farmlore’s flower fields) and proposed plans that include a fishing pier for avid and aspiring anglers, plus a community park and playground.

Barr Lake State Park

Barr Lake State Park’s 2,715 acres offer 12 miles of trails (including the 8.8-mile lake loop), fishing, boating, hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, wildlife viewing and waterfowl hunting. It’s also headquarters for the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory (RMBO), home to some 350 feathered species, offering the best birdwatching in the state.

Ken Mitchell Park

The 648-acre Ken Mitchell Park and Open Space will soon be home to a skate park, amphitheater, disc golf course, dog park, sunning beaches and a grand fishing pier.

South Platte River Trail

For bikers, walkers and nature explorers, plans are underway to complete the South Platte River Trail, a paved riverfront path linking Denver to Brighton.

Eagle View Adult Center

Located just 2 miles from Farmlore, the Eagle View Adult Center is dedicated to the overall social, educational, outreach and wellness needs of seniors and active adults ages 55+.

Brighton Rec Center

Athletes of all ages and abilities can find fun and exercise at the Brighton Recreation Center. Facilities include a fitness studio, weight rooms, cycling studio, gym, lap and leisure pools, racquetball court and on-site childcare.
